Well, you can't win them all, but today was filled with some bad news for the Rangers. Josh Lindblom was mostly ineffective again, this coming after news that Yu Darvish has been placed on the DL with soreness in his trapezius muscle. While the Rangers believe he'll essentially only miss one start, it means that Ross Wolf will likely start tomorrow, and a spot start will still be necessary in the absence of Nick Tepesch.

As of this moment, 4 of the 5 opening day starters are on the DL. While Ogando is set to return next week at some point, the returns of Matt Harrison and Colby Lewis are more uncertain, and the Rangers can't be sure of what they'll get from either. At this point, I'm not sure I'd be behind the idea of trying to trade for one of the top starters rumored to be on the trade market, but the more the injuries pile up, the more it seems likely that the Rangers will need to make a move for a fresh arm to throw into the mix, similar to what they did in acquiring Ryan Dempster last season.

Now would be a great time for the offense to step up and go into an unstoppable mode.
