Well, at least they didn't get no-hit, thanks to Mitch Moreland. On a day when Justin Verlander didn't have his best stuff, the Rangers bats were quiet. Although they hit some pitches hard, they couldn't get any of them to fall when it counted most.
For players like David Murphy, and especially, Elvis Andrus, at some point you'd like to see them create their own luck. For Andrus, his approach at the plate appears to be very suspect and opposing pitchers seem to realize that throwing it inside on him is a sure way to induce a weak pop-up or a grounder to the left side.
The All-Star break is upon us. May the break bring health, freshness, and a peace of mind for the Texas Rangers moving forward. More on Elvis Andrus to follow later.
