And just like that, the flames are being fanned once again, as this came down the wire about 20 minutes ago:

Now, whether or not a deal is actually close to being done, or the Cubs are simply withholding Garza in the even that a deal does indeed end up happening in the next few days, it's an interesting development. Perhaps Mike Olt hitting 3-run home runs on back-to-back days helped raise his trade value once again, or perhaps the Rangers had some initial concerns about Garza's health. Whatever the case may be, it appears the trade winds are swirling once again.
