39 Days
Two sports are represented in the image above. In both, their leagues determined there was no catch. I'll let you guess which one I disagree with.
In one sport, the DFW-area team went from a 56% win expectancy to 18% with a "non-catch". This essentially eliminated them from moving on to the next round of the playoffs.
In the other sport, the DFW-area team, while frustrated for a night -- even if the fan base has been constantly tortured since -- they lived to play another game the next day.
One of these sports leaves a lot open to interpretation from it's officiating crews, even on replays.
The other, while struggling at time with strike zones, mostly evens out over the course of the season, and even over the course of individual games. One bad call doesn't strip a team of any chance of future postseason success, generally speaking.
Football, for all the energy and passion left out on the field, brings out the worst in me.
Baseball, now baseball is where it's all at. Just under 39 days until pitchers and catchers report to Surprise, AZ. It can't come soon enough.
