Papa John's two days in a row. How cool is that?

• Colby Lewis had another solid outing today. Are we surprise at this point? 6 innings, 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. No runs. Nothing to see here. Move along.
   
• The Rangers catching magic continued at the plate, with Bryan Holaday starting the scoring with a 2-run home run in the top of the 3rd inning.
   
• In the top of the 5th inning Jurickson Profar hit his first big league home run since September of 2013, a solo shot that left the park on a line. So, that was cool. He's had a nice stint filling in for Rougned Odor over the last few days.
   
• Lonnie Chisenhall broke up the shutout bid in the bottom of the 7th inning with a 2-run home run off of Tony Barnette. Barnette, who has been very effective recently, gave up only his 2nd home run of the season on a ball he knew he left over the plate too much.
   
• In the top of the 8th inning, Ian Desmond and Adrian Beltre both doubled, driving in a run apiece. Then, in the top of the 9th, Jared Hoying drove in Elvis Andrus on a single that made it 7-2.
   
• The high usage rate for the late-inning relievers continued, with Tony Barnette, Jake Diekman, Matt Bush, and Sam Dyson all getting into the game. Even with a 5-run lead, apparently no one else is trusted to come into the game. It's a disturbing trend, and leaves me wondering: If the current bullpen arms can't get into a game because they're not trusted, isn't there someone in the organization that can come up to be trusted to get outs in blowout wins?
   
• Matt Bush was particularly and noticeably less sharp than normal. His pitches topped out at 95 mph, often sitting around 94. That's noticeably lower than where he's been, and a telltale sign of a guy suffering from some fatigue. If the mantra is to ride them until they break, then that works I suppose, but this bullpen won't make it to August at this rate. Bush also went on to give up three straight singles, that last of which scored a run and drove Bush from the game, bringing Sam Dyson in.
   
• Another series win that keeps the Rangers in first place in the AL West. They'll have a chance to sweep in Cleveland tomorrow with Cole Hamels on the mound.
