Mitch Moreland Signed, Rangers Avoid Arbitration
/As was the overriding expectation, Mitch Moreland and the Rangers met in the middle on a salary figure at $2.95 million, thereby avoiding salary arbitration. Moreland will have an additional $25,000 in incentives built into his deal.
Texas has avoided salary arbitration every year since 2000, and that streak will continue on through the year 2015. Moreland, coming off of ankle surgery in 2014, figures to be something of a utility player at this point, playing some 1st base, the corner outfield spots, and some time at DH.
